The Beginning Mom and Dad 1958

My parents were married in January of 1958. They wanted to have children right away. But sadly, they had to go through some happy and sorrowful times in their journey to have children and start a family.

Mom, after having multiple miscarriages, she was told she could never have children. Luckily, my dad was a volunteer fireman in our hometown. The different fire departments in our county would socialize on a regular basis. Someone from a neighboring fire department told my parents of a old fashion country doctor who came out of retirement to be their department’s physician.

They suggested that my mother go see him. She did and the doctor accepted her as a patient. Then in the summer of 1959 she found out that she was pregnant once again. This is were my story begins.

P.S. My mother and father grew their family to 4 children. This includes, me, my eldest half brother Rick, my younger Irish twin brother, Charles and the baby of the family, Keith. This is another story for another time.

Introduction 1960 to 2021

Hello World. My name is Rose and I was born on March 3rd, 1960. I was born & raised in Long Island, NY in a little town called Bohemia. I currently live in the beautiful city of Fort Myers in the Sunshine State of Florida. I moved here in the summer of ’77. I was not a happy camper at the time. My Mom and Dad took me from my beloved school district that I went to since kindergarten. Also, when we moved it was the time between my junior and senior year of high school.

I’ll be 62 years old this coming March. I’m married 36 years to my soulmate, partner in everything, the love of my life and my living guardian angel, David. I’ve been to death & back multiple times with a very bumpy and messy ride in between. My husband David never left my side. He is my one true constant of happiness through my adult life.

It will be a story of sorrow, heartache but most of all love and happiness with hopefully a ending of Happily Ever After. Not to ruin the ending but my husband & I are already there. I hope you enjoy my story but also be inspired to live life by my favorite quote, “Have courage and be kind…”

This blog will tell the story of my life. Starting at the beginning while in my mother’s womb to currently living a very interesting life full of ups and downs but most of all happiness. I will talk about how over the years I overcame critical and deadly situations concerning my health. Overcoming these situations & going beyond what doctors diagnosed how far I would be able to recover. Boy did I surprise them. Lastly, how all this changed my life both physically and mentally. Other posts will be about my scary thoughts concerning the world in my 40’s. Then to why in my 50’s these thoughts were replaced with hope and love for our the world’s communities.
